It's no secret or a surprise that Russia is prevailing in the Ukraine war. Declassified documents from the military show that the division between Ukraine and Russia truly lies along the Dnieper River. East of the River can be taken relatively quickly by Russia because the people are sympathetic toward the Russian troops. West are the pro-US Ukrainians. All US strategy, in the eyes of an insider, is geared toward that analysis. Why? Because Americans cannot possibly attain victory on lands on which the people feel sympathetic toward Russia. At the same time, if Russia aims to move on to Western parts of Ukraine territory (beyond where they are now), then NATO/US will have excuse to invade the West section of Ukraine. The real danger in the war for NATO/Kiev is that a US invasion of western Ukraine would allow for a quick Russian invasion along the East portion of Dnieper River leading to Kiev.
